Evaluation:
Overall, I believe my work in this unit fulfilled the purpose of this assignment. The purpose was to devise and create 3D models following industry practice which I believe I have achieved.
The first task consisted off me reflecting on my work that I completed within Unit 69. The premise of Task 1 was to simply republish the information from my Unit 69 blog regarding the research done for my characters equipment onto my Unit 66 blog. This was an easy enough task. Due to the simplicity of this task, I believe this task was a strength of my design process.
The second Task consisted of a weekly schedule to be uploaded to blogger, to form milestones by which certain aspects of the assignment should be completed. This Task was completed over the course of five weeks. I updated the schedule weekly, and gave myself milestones for which certain tasks had to be completed for. While I failed to meet most of these self imposed deadlines, I still regularly updated the schedule. This task overall was one of the weaker parts of my design process.
The third Task consisted of me using drawing sketches of my characters equipment. These were to cover all relevant angles, such as the back of the model, the front etc. These designs were to help me plan out how my 3D models of my characters equipment would look like. I drew annotated sketches of my equipment, which I later used to help create my 3D models. I believe this was one of the strengths of my design process.
The fourth Task entailed me creating my characters equipment in Blender and then writing about the process with a production log. I constructed my 3D models for my characters equipment and along the way, I took screenshots, applied them to my blog and annotated them. I made sure to screenshot all major steps in the models construction process and to describe what I did to accomplish what was shown in the screenshot. I did this for all three models. Due to amount of detail I put into the production log, and the fact that I showed multiple stages of my models construction, I believe Task 4 was one of the strengths of my design process.
Task 5 consisted of me putting images of my fully rendered models at different angles, into a poster montage. I completed this task by taking rendered photos of my assets at multiple angles relevant to the nature of the asset. Upon taking them, I combined them into photo montages on a word document. Upon completing a montage, I took screenshots, and transferred them onto blogger, under relevant title's. I believe this was done well, due to the simplicity of the task, and as such,one of the strengths of the design process.
Overall, I believe I fulfilled the purpose of the assignment. I devised and created 3D models successfully following industry practice which was the overall purpose of the assignment.
